Comparison Of Popular Gas Grills
When we first got a look at the Weber Genesis Grill, the first thing we couldn’t help but notice was that it looked like any other gas grill. It didn’t look like it was anything special at first glance, but we decided to actually grill with it to see how it performed when compared to other gas grills. So we got our hands on one, opened the lid and put her to work. Here’s what we discovered when we grilled some fish, steak and chicken on our new Weber Genesis.
The Weber Genesis
If you’re looking for something other than a propane gas powered grill this is not for you. The weber genesis grills has 507 inches of primary cooking available, and a 130 square inch warming rack for a total of 637 square inches of cooking space. When you compare this with other grills out there it turns out to be a lot of space. So no matter if you’re cooking for 2, 5, 10, or even 20+ people you will have plenty of space available.
When you look a little closer you will find 3 main stainless steel burners. We read over the manual to get a better understanding of what it can do, and we found that there are 42,800 BTU per hour, which makes cooking meat a lot easier. There is also a 12,000 BTU flush mounted side burner if you need to cook sauces or soups. There are also cast iron cooking grates, which provide unbelievable sear marks on the meat.
Extra Components
While all of this sounds great, there are other benefits to the Weber Genesis. One of the biggest advantages to using one of these grills is the porcelain enameled flavorized bars. These help keep cook the food evenly without having to worry about flare ups. There is also an Electronic Crossover ignition system that makes turning this grill on and off much easier.
Construction
When you’re looking for a grill you want something that is easy to grill on, which is what the Weber Genesis Grill provides. There is a center mounted thermometer, and everything comes in stainless steel. So even when you’re not cooking, this grill looks great in the backyard. Some gas grills are constructed so you see the propane tank, but the Weber Genesis Grill has an enclosed cart with stainless steel doors. It’s not very big either, so you don’t have to worry about it sticking out like a sore thumb.
We’d never used Weber Genesis gas grills before, but we are no strangers to gas grills in general. That means that the Weber Genesis had a lot to live up to, since we have used many gas grills in our time. However, the Weber Genesis Grills did cook our food to our liking, especially because of the built in flavorizer and thermometer, and that’s exactly what we would want if we were searching for a gas grill to host our backyard barbeques.
